What this website is
This site is an educational resource and a shopping tool for privately purchased insurance products. It lets you research coverage, see which options may fit your situation and, if you choose, ask a licensed agent for help.
It is not an application, not a binder, not an offer of insurance and not a guarantee that any product will be issued to you. No coverage exists until a carrier accepts an application and issues a policy or certificate, and until the first premium is paid.
You cannot enroll yourself here
A licensed agent always completes the enrollment. Nothing on this site enrolls you in coverage automatically, and submitting a request does not reserve, hold or guarantee a plan, a rate or an effective date.
What the plan results mean
The options shown by the Marketplace are generated from the information you enter and from the products AO American Benefits currently offers. They are suggestions to review, not an eligibility decision and not advice tailored to your medical or financial situation.
Availability, benefits, limitations, exclusions, waiting periods and premiums vary by state, carrier, plan and applicant, and are confirmed at the time of application. Where a premium is shown, it reflects a published rate for the stated age band and coverage tier and may change; where a premium is not shown, a personalized quote is required. In every case the policy, certificate or membership documents issued by the carrier govern.
Not all private coverage is the same
"Private health insurance" is a consumer-facing umbrella term. The products discussed on this site include several different structures — medically underwritten major-medical-style plans, fixed indemnity plans, ERISA or association-based coverage, short-term medical and supplemental products. Many of them are not Affordable Care Act major medical insurance and do not have to follow ACA rules. Read the plan documents, and ask your agent, before you rely on any plan for a specific need.

Accuracy and changes
We work to keep this site accurate and we date the pages we review. Insurance products, networks, state filings and rates change, sometimes without notice, and third-party documents we link to are maintained by the carriers who publish them. We may change, suspend or remove any part of this site at any time.
